Sometimes I like to hunt around on line to see what happened to a particular engine I might be featuring in Proto-file.  Sometimes they’ve been wrecked, sometimes they’ve been noticeably modified but mostly they just get repainted.  Everything I can find on 6009, posed nicely on the turntable in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan in 1980ish, suggests that it received the mostly unpopular Duel Flag scheme and it still wears it in service somewhere today.  You might correct me if I’m wrong.

But I didn’t take this old picture because I wanted to fill a hole in a roster list.  I did it because of the wooden roadway crossings built into both of the approach tracks to the turntable.  And these x-ings are everywhere through out the large yard.  It’s something that’s so obviously needed for safe day-to-day operation and at the same time it’s something always left out of our layout yards.  Of course there were roads all over a yard and they should be modeled as a part of the scene every time.
